Wendy Williams Takes Kevin Hunter Back After Sharina Dumps Him?

Wendy Williams is set to take her cheating husband back – but only as her business manager – after having a series of emotional heart-to-heart talks with her ex, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The 55-year-old TV host dumped Kevin Hunter, 47, in April after his long-term affair with massage therapist Sharina Hudson, 33, was exposed by DailyMail.com.

But it’s understood Williams is now in talks with Hunter, having softened her position towards her husband, who she wed in 1997.

After a series of face-to-face meetings, the pair even drafted a joint press statement to announce they will not dissolve their production company, publishing house or charitable foundation in a bid not to damage the ‘legacy’ of the work they’ve put in.

Though their 22-year marriage ended in infidelity and acrimony, a source told DailyMail.com the two still make a ‘solid team’, having built a successful business, which they are now trying to preserve with a carefully negotiated divorce deal.

DailyMail.com understands that lawyers for the pair are close to a settlement agreement and Williams has paved the way for Hunter to return as her business manager providing he refrain from pursuing her over alimony.

‘Wendy and Kevin’s marriage might be over but they still have love for one another and she realizes that when it comes to business they had a great partnership, there was definitely magic there,’ a source close to the couple told DailyMail.com.

‘Wendy has come around to the idea that it makes more sense for Kevin to stick around, it’s best for her business and career and for their family.

‘Since he left the business there’s been a lot of infighting and back-biting behind the scenes, that’s the kind of stuff Kevin kept a handle on.

‘Of course Wendy was furious with Kevin over his affair, she felt he had publicly humiliated her and she wanted to come out fighting, but she’s since softened her view of him and wants an amicable divorce.

‘He has been very supportive, particularly around her struggles with alcoholism.’

But while the couple is understood to be trying to resolve their split ‘amicably’ for the sake of their family, Hunter is concerned that if he agrees to come back as Williams’ business manager and make certain concessions in the divorce settlement, she could easily decide to fire him down the line, the source explained

‘Kevin is willing to work with Wendy but he wants to make sure anything he decides to do is in his best interests, that’s what’s being sorted out now,’ the source said.

The deal would mean that Hunter and Williams’ companies, including The Hunter Foundation, WW Talk Productions and Hunter Publishing Group, will not be dissolved as a result of their divorce.

Instead, Wendy will resign as an officer from the foundation but ‘will support from time to time, as well as will be involved with other philanthropic efforts that are important to her,’ the source said.

‘In recognizing generational wealth, these organizations were built as a family, and Wendy and Kevin want to pass them on to their son for his future,’ the source added.

The couple had planned to show a united front at the recent court appearance involving the assault claims against Kevin Jr – but decided not to make a public spectacle of the hearing, instead sitting it out together in the car outside.

The case against Kevin Jr – in which he was accused of assaulting his father in the parking lot of a New Jersey store in May – has been dismissed and tensions between father and son have simmered.

Last Thursday, the couple put their $1.9 million Livingston, New Jersey home on the market.

The 5,700 sq ft five-bedroom house includes four full baths, two half-baths, a gourmet kitchen with custom cabinetry and granite countertops.

In May the chat show star moved into a new high-rise city apartment in Manhattan that she described as the ‘ultimate bachelorette pad’, ‘high atop everything’ with a ‘really, really good view’..

When Williams filed for divorce in April this year, her contrite ex released a statement, apologizing and saying he was ‘trying to right some wrongs’.

‘I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans,’ Hunter wrote in the statement. ‘I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.

’28 years ago I met an amazing woman: Wendy Williams. At the time, I didn’t realize that she would not only become my wife, but would also change the face of entertainment and the world. I have dedicated most of our lives to the business empire that is Wendy Williams Hunter, a person that I truly love and respect unconditionally,’ he said.

‘No matter what the outcome is or what the future holds, we are still The Hunter Family and I will continue to work with and fully support my wife in this business and through any and all obstacles she may face living her new life of sobriety, while I also work on mine.’

Hunter, who had produced the Wendy Williams Show up until recently and has a 19-year-old son Kevin Jr with Williams, also vowed to get a handle on his drinking problem, and promised to stand by his son’s mother.

In 2017 a DailyMailTV expose revealed Hunter’s ten-year affair with massage therapist Sharina Hudson, 33.

Williams, it seems, decided to turn a blind eye to the infidelity at the time.

But DailyMailTV learned that in December last year the star hired a private investigator to spy on her husband who she suspected was still carrying on with his mistress and may have got her pregnant.

After being told the affair was still very much alive, the TV host confronted her hubby and during a violent confrontation she fell and fractured her shoulder.

And in a bombshell discovery, DailyMail.con revealed the star then plunged into a booze and pills fueled depression.

Hunter ultimately confessed to an ongoing affair and his child with mistress Hudson was born earlier this year.

Williams called it quits on the marriage, filing for divorce.

At the time, sources told DailyMail.com that the split led Williams to struggle with her sobriety, even taking the decision to move into a sober house for a brief period.

After DailyMail.com photographed Williams coming and going from the sober house in Long Island City, New York, the star decided to come clean and opened up about the experience on an episode of her show.

She told the audience she had been ‘dealing with issues with addiction, alcoholism, and I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son.’

‘Believe me you, when you lay in a room with no TV and four gray walls all day … this is my life in the sober house, it’s one of the best things, honestly, that could have ever happened to me,’ she said.

Her sobriety has been question since, however, after Williams was videoed slurring her words after a night out.
