Kelly Clarkson has moving trucks outside her LA home as she moves to NYC… after changing lyrics to Piece By Piece following Brandon Blackstock divorce

Kelly Clarkson is preparing to leave Los Angeles as moving trucks were seen at her Toluca Lake, California home on Monday.

The singer, 41, is saying goodbye to the sprawling mansion that she bought for $5.4 million after divorcing her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in 2021.

The Since U Been Gone hitmaker had revealed in May that she and their two children — daughter River, nine, and son Remy, seven — were heading to the East Coast as they ‘needed a fresh start‘.

Consequently, she had also confirmed that she would be moving her eponymous daytime talk show to New York City.

While getting ready to transition to a new place, the television personality also made another big change by amending the lyrics to her 2015 ballad Piece By Piece.

During her Las Vegas residency show on Saturday, the Grammy winner switched up the praises to Blackstock and turned the song into a self-empowering anthem.

Introducing her next song, she began: ‘This song I initially wrote just super hopeful, right?

‘And well, sometimes hopeful turns into hopeless, so here we go, Piece by Piece,’ she said to the audience of concertgoers, according to People.

Originally, the song intended to be about how her then-partner restored her faith in men after her father neglected and abandoned her.

In Piece By Piece, Clarkson praised Blackstock for being a caring parent and husband unlike her father.

‘But piece by piece, he collected me up / Off the ground, where you abandoned things, yeah / Piece by piece, he filled the holes that you burned in me / At six years old and you know,’ Clarkson sang in the original version.

Post-heartbreak and as she makes big changes in her life, she changed the pronouns from ‘he’ to ‘I’.

Instead, she sang the new lines: ‘I collected me up’ and ‘I filled the holes that you burned in me’.

In June, she released her 10th studio album titled Chemistry, and in many of the 14 tracks, she touched on her past relationship and divorce.

On one song titled Rock Hudson, she threw jabs at her ex and recalled the former track she had previously dedicated to him.

Taking back the words she initially sang, she sang: ‘By the way, piece by piece, I found out my hero’s me.’

This comes over three years after the former couple had initially started the divorce process following nearly a decade of marriage and one year after they finally reached a resolution.

Previously, Clarkson and Blackstock were married for around eight years and had welcomed two children together during that time.
