Bruce Willis’ wife reveals the truth about his dementia with 4 cold words – and it’s as we feared

The recent updates on Bruce Willis’s health condition have been disheartening, as his wife,

Emma Hemming Willis, has shared that it’s challenging to determine if he is aware of his diagnosis of dementia.

The Hollywood icon retired from the limelight last year,

disclosing that he was contending with aphasia.

However, early in 2023, Willis’s family revealed that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, delivering a devastating blow to his legion of fans and, undoubtedly, to his family.

In the wake of this diagnosis, Bruce’s loved ones have rallied around him, with Emma taking on the role of his primary caregiver. Emma has been tirelessly working to raise awareness about her husband’s condition, recently appearing on the Today show during World Frontotemporal Dementia Awareness Week.

During her appearance, the 45-year-old opened up about the profound difficulty the family has faced in dealing with Bruce’s illness. When asked if Bruce was aware of his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis, Emma’s emotions were palpable as she said, “It’s hard to know.”

She continued, “Dementia is hard. It’s hard on the person diagnosed, it’s also hard on the family. That is no different for Bruce, or myself, or our girls. When they say this is a family disease, it really is. I think it was the blessing and the curse, to finally understand what was happening, so I can be into the acceptance of what it is. It doesn’t make it any less painful, but just being in the acceptance, and being in the know of what is happening to Bruce, makes it a little bit easier.”

By all accounts, Willis’s family has come together to support the actor as he navigates the challenges of declining health. Rumors circulated that Bruce’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, had moved in to assist Emma and the rest of the family. Bruce’s three adult daughters, Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout, are also doing their utmost to provide strength and support during this trying time.

Emma, who describes herself as a “care partner,” emphasized the importance of open and honest communication within their household. She shared, “The most important thing was to be able to say what the disease was, explain what it is, because when you know what the disease is from a medical standpoint, it all makes sense. I don’t want there to be any stigma or shame attached to their dad’s diagnosis or any form of dementia.”

Despite the challenges, Emma is determined to focus on the positive aspects of their lives and cherish the moments they have together. She acknowledges the beauty in their journey and the importance of embracing joy. Emma believes that Bruce would want his family to find happiness and strength in the midst of their challenges.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bruce Willis and his family during this difficult time. For those who are fans of this legendary actor, it’s important to offer support and understanding as they navigate the complexities of his condition.
